Rattlers Women Third at RDP XC Race

MHC runner Reyna Woodruff clocked a season’s best time on Saturday, finishing 7th at ACAC 3 – the RDP Open

The Medicine Hat College (MHC) Rattlers women’s cross country team continued its streak of podium finishes on Saturday at the ACAC 3 – Red Deer Polytechnic (RDP) Open. In the first full-field ACAC women’s xc race of the season, the Rattlers placed third behind the victorious Concordia University of Edmonton (CUE) Thunder and second place RDP Queens.

As she’s done all season, the Rattlers were led by second-year standout Reyna Woodruff, who finished 7th in a season’s best time of 25:08 for the 6 km course. Woodruff was followed by rookie Meghan Reefhuis (11th), Ellie Barlow (20th), Sarah Laturnas (23rd), Presley Brennan (26th), Hannah Ulm (27th), Jayda Hill (33rd), Ciana Catonio (41st), Ava Dyck (47th),and Elise Stark (49th).

In the men’s 8 km, the Rattlers finished 4th among the 12 ACAC schools who contested the race. Rookie Alejandro Ayla was the top MHC finisher in 9th place, clocking a time of 29:11. The other MHC finishers included Ethan Mellish (15th), Askia Tahirou (20th), Spencer Wilson (29th), Nick Lefebvre (37th), Keegan Kolody (39th), Will Miller (48th), Logan Mellish (50th), and the legendary Christopher Nelissen (55th).

Next up for the Rattlers is the CUE Open in Edmonton on October 17.
