
The MHC Rattlers women’s cross country running team served notice on Saturday that they will be a contender for an ACAC championship this fall. The squad placed four runners in the top 10 enroute to a team victory over the reigning champion Red Deer Polytechnic at ACAC #2 – The Pumpkin Run in Lethbridge
The Rattlers women were led by rookie Pheonix Asprey who placed third in the 6 km race run under unseasonably warm conditions. Maddie Scrimger (5th), Reyna Woodruff (7th) and Ellie Barlow (10th) followed closely. Other MHC finishers included Riley Knapp (17th), Addy Weir (19th), Ciana Catonio (26th), Presley Brennan (29th), Ava Dyck (30th), and Elise Stark (33rd ).

A much improved Rattlers men’s team fielded their first full team of the 2025 season and ended up in 4th place among eight colleges Logan Pancoast had a strong run finishing 5th over the 8 km distance. Spencer Wilson was 17th, Keegan Kolody, making his ACAC debut, placed 22nd, and Griffin Goodfellow crossed the line in 31st.
Next up for the Rattlers runners is ACAC #4 in Camrose on October 2,
