Scrimger Shines at ACAC Indoor Track Champs

Rattlers runner Maddie Scrimger delivered a strong performance on the weekend at the 2025 ACAC Indoor Track Championships in Edmonton. The third-year nursing student won her first-ever ACAC gold medal on Saturday with a convincing win in the women’s 3000m. On Sunday, Scrimger followed up with a silver medal winning run in 1500m. In addition to her podium finishes, Scrimger also placed 10th in the 1000m and ran a leg on the 8th place women’s 4 x 400m team. All told, she established three new MHC school records in her individual events.

For her efforts this weekend, Scrimger was named to the ACAC Indoor Track All Conference team, for the second year in a row.

A number of other Rattlers runners and relay teams scored points in the meet based on their top 8 finishes. These included:

Ellie Barlow Women’s 3000m 7th place

Annika Marshall Women’s 60m 8th place

Women’s 4 x 200m Relay 6th place

Women’s 4 x 400m Relay 8th place

Chibuikem Chukwunyerenwa 60m 8th place

Men’s 4 x 200m Relay 4th place

Men’s 4 x 400 Relay 5th place

Collectively, the Rattlers placed fifth out of ten teams in the meet.

With the indoor track season now complete, the team will now focus on preparing for the 2025 Rattler Run on April 26.
