
MHC Rattlers runner Maddy Scrimger delivered a performance for the ages this weekend at the ACAC Indoor Track Championships in Edmonton.
Scrimger, a second-year nursing student, hit the podium four times during the meet. She ran to silver medals in both the 1500m and 3000m events, recorded a bronze medal in the 1000m, and combined with teammates Brooklyn Kaczynski, Annika Marshall, and Kabri Stickel for another bronze medal in the 4 x 200m relay.
For her efforts, Scrimger was named to the ACAC Indoor Track All Conference team for the 2024.

A number of other Rattlers also recorded top-eight performances on the weekend. These included:
Justin Jager 300m 7th and 60m 7th tied (7.39 school record)
Colton Robinson 60m 7th tied (7.39 school record)
Annika Marshall 60m 7th (8.74 school record)
Shintaro Iwata 600m 7th
Mizuki Iwata 1500m 8th and 3000m 8th
Men’s 4 x 200m 4th (1:39.46 school record)
Men’s 4 x 400m 4th
Women’s 4 x 400m 5th
Collectively, the Rattlers posted a program-best 4th place finish in the overall combined team competition. The Rattlers women equaled their 4th place finish from 2023, while the Rattlers men moved up one spot from 6th in 2023 to 5th this year.
